You are not more intelligent than the average person
Most Americans, approximately 65% believe they have above average intelligence. Obviously that math doesn’t add up. This effect, described by social psychologists Justin Kruger and David Dunning in 1999, is all about so-called meta-ignorance: an unawareness of how ignorant an individual, pondering on their own capabilities, thinks they are.
Also, the least intelligent tend to be the most overconfident. Makes sense some of the things happening in the world these days!
